Redox DAF - Model KCL
Typical Redox KCL DAF
For larger wastewater low rates and special applications Redox Environment B.V. has a unique alternative to the space consuming, round or rectangular flotation systems. Combining two principles of plate separation, countercurrent and crossflow, an extremely compact and highly effective flotation system (KCL) has been the result. The system is designed to treat water volumes of nominal capacities ranging: 150-225 and 300 m³/hr at an overflow rate of 1.5 m³/m²/hr.
This means that all floating particles with a rising velocity of 1.5 m/hr are separated where in conventional systems this normally starts at 3-5 m/hr. See the selection chart below for further details.
During the design process particular attention has been given to the dewatering of separated materials. The separated solids compartments allows a sufficient sludge retention time before being further dewatered via a static dewatering "plate" frame and a flightscraper.
The KCL system is composed of two parts which are easily mounted together. Following assembly the system is ready for operation, since the aeration/recycle system, pneumatic and electrical switch and control panel (if required) are mounted directly to the flotation system. The simple positioning and connection of services is all that is required for installation by local contractors.
A second version of the KCL has been designed for less easier treatable wastewaters eg polluted with non dissolved and/or emulsified oil and grease, suspended solids, etc. This design is not dividable and is lower in height for the same overflow rates as the "two piece" systems.
Coagulation and flocculation is realized in a "pipe reactor" where under strict controlled conditions chemicals are dosed for coagulation (destabilization of f.e. emulsions) and flocculation (conglomeration of destabilized particles). See RPF Pipe Flocculator for further details.
The standard KCL series come with one sediment compartment and the Redox spiral, shaftless solids conveyor, ensuring a trouble free, non maintenance, settled solids discharge.
The standardized systems are manufactured of AISI 304, however other materials can be proposed on request.
